DJ Basic was exposed to electronic music in the mid 90's after spending some time living in Florida. The Floridian rave/club scene became a staple in his life, frequenting Tampa's Ybor City, Firestone and Cyberzone in Orlando, seeing the likes of Dj Icey, Friction & Spice, Funk Lab, Mike & Charlie, Tony Faline, Rick West, Baby Anne and more. Soon, after returning home to New England, Basic purchased his first turntables and immediately fell in love. His Love for Drum and Bass came soon after, becoming a regular at Boston's "The Rinse", a weekly held by dj and record store owner, Static. Many days also spent listening to the latest releases at Static's 4Front Records hooked Basic for life..
Now, after several years spent in the SF Bay area, DJ Basic resides in Los Angeles CA.
