Without a doubt Chris Calix stems his DJ roots deep into a musical background that includes everything from Punk Rock to New Wave and Reggae. The kind of stuff that gives birth to DJ’s like him. Chris has buried himself in Dance Music for over 20 years now. His first experiences include the “true” rave scene of the early 90’s. When, as partner of Illusions, he spun as various warehouse parties across the US. Amazingly, Chris held his first club residency in 1991 at the age of 18, at Paradox in Austin, Texas; pushing the new and trivial Techno sound. Then came a quick hop and skip into the legendary club world of The Tunnel, Limelight, Arc, Warsaw, The End, Pacha, Space, Crobar, etc. At these venues is where he honed his love affair with more intelligent music and clubbing.
