Hi guys,

Here's another early noughties mixtape of deep house eclecticism taking in everything from deep techno, tribal house to house-jazz-fusion and original UK tech-house. The absolute killer track on this mixtape is 'Mawbass', produced by Navid Nourizadeh, the brother of Omid 16b and just as talented. Watch out for the cheeky drop of Juan Atkins' mix of The Beloved. One of my favourite acid house cuts from 1989 that sounds so good today.

Play as loud as you are able.

This all vinyl mix is recorded from an original tape, so be prepared for a bumpy ride purists.

Cheers for listening and hope you enjoy,
Chris

Fran Ashram

Chris Sharp

Hey Fran, cheers for the comment and thanks for listening! I'll be listening to your latest as soon as i'm able.

Deep Transmissions

A really enjoyable set Chris, the DJ Buck remix of Up All Night was always a big favourite of mine when it came out and I haven't heard it for so long so was great to see you reprise it here in some style alongside another gem by fries and bridges whose affiliated drums ep vol 1 was also big for me back when. This set just underlines how healthy the scene was back in the 90s and how well much of the music released then has persisted. Timeless.

Chris Sharp

Cheers Dave. Buck was releasing some hot tracks around this time. 'Original Cisco Freaks' was big track for me and really turned me onto his sound. I forgot how good that Fries & Bridges track is until i listened to this through again. Solid house, i'm glad you mention it . . . and in total agreement on the persistence of the music from this period. There is a timeless quality to it, i'd love to hear more DJ's dig a little deeper and drop a few of these next to new releases. Thanks for listening pal.

The must have been around the time when we had the twins - bit of a musical black hole for me so hearing most of these tracks for the first time which is just great - seriously deep and groovin' - absolutely loving this Chris - top work as usual:))

Chris Sharp

Hi John, apologies for the slow reply! Thanks a lot mate, glad you enjoyed it. I personally love it when i discover a track from way back that i missed or hadn't heard before. It has a unique nostalgia, so i totally get that. 'Deep and groovin' pretty much sums up my sound around this time. Thanks for your comment fella :)

Oh yeah...some serious groove here, Chris. I had it up loud as I sit outside with some peeps sipping on drinks. These classic grooves are the perfect vibe at the moment. Right on point with the mixing as always. Great work, dude.

Chris Sharp

Sounds great fella. Honoured, hope you're having a good evening. Cheers!

SKYMAN1882

Again another walk through some classic sounds done so well Chris , that Audiomat opener brought back some memories , always thought that tune was really cleverly produced as the vocal and melody is at complete juxtaposition with the beat but it just works ! Really great flow and some serious beats through the second part :)

Chris Sharp

Cheers Simon. Yeah, i love the beats on this mix from the Grant Dell track and in full agreement on the Audiomat tune - very smart, dynamic production with the spoken word vocal and melody playing off the solid beats. A great track to use as an opener.

Velvet Velsen

Great set that is constructed very well, dude.

Chris Sharp

Cheers V!

great vibe from Read that lips to Garia to Balance (btw one of my fav form this session), Spiritual, Rise Up, Salling on the funk, Click, and the perfect Jazzy/Fusion Perfect Timing, what can i say Chris, TOP Quality as usual, an refreshing look back in time, love it, cheers my friend!

Chris Sharp

Cheers pal! 'Balance' is a real sleeper on this mix for sure. A very long track actually, great in the mix, deceptively good. Thanks for your time mate, glad you always take something away from these trips back in house time, as it were. :)

Huas

This one brings back many memories mate, me raving all night in a warehouse somewhere in Amsterdam.

Chris Sharp

Sounds great mate, good times! Glad the mix has that vibe, cheers fella!

LuNa aka MADKITTEN

I'm really digging the mixing on this one Chris. I love hearing each new track sneaking it's way into the mix with some tasty EQ-ing from you. Some serious tunage on here too. 'Mawbass' is a killer tune but there are some other stand out tracks for me, such as 'Up All Night', The Bump & 'Spiritual'. '2 Bad Acid' is the only one of these tracks in my own collection, but I have a feeling that 'Random Dynamics' & 'Sailing On The Funk' will be making their way to me soon :) Your Mixcloud account is now officially my 'back catalogue' reference for vinyl! Thanks for sharing this little gem mate :)

Chris Sharp

Cheers Echo! 'Spiritual' is a totally insane jazzy bumper, pleased you highlight that. Serious tunage indeed and i enjoyed playing with it here, in and out of the mix. Thanks for listening mate, glad i'm helping you rediscover some of these tracks! 'Random Dynamics' & 'Sailing on the Funk' will be more than worthy additions to your collection :)
