i remember thinking for a while as a young child people could read my mind if they touched me so every time i would have to hold hands or whatever i would force myself to think inconspicuous things or chatter. then later i actually tried to test it by thinking insults or confronting them with what they were doing, but they seemed completely unaffected so i abandoned that theory
