Cebu, Philippines
For 20+ years, he worked behind the scenes in the Philippine music industry as a music manager and A&R, shaping careers and chasing the next fresh sound. Everything changed in 2016 when Drake’s "One Dance" led him down the Afrobeats rabbit hole—discovering Wizkid, Burna Boy, and the African diaspora’s sonic waves.
By 2023, he transformed from industry insider to DJ-producer-mentor under the alias MISTERMIL (a clever flip of his surname, Lim), swapping boardrooms for dancefloors. Now he drives PHIRE Starter, a groundbreaking collective (ZOYA, Drippie Eric, DJ LIT) using his curation superpowers to push Afro sounds in Cebu—amplified through its indie label PHIRE Records.
His DJ sets blend education and eruption serving up Afrobeats, Amapiano, and Alte Cruise. For MISTERMIL, playing African-influence rhythms is his compass —to crafting a sonic fusion with Filipino soundscapes.
