The Architect: dj burn
EBM | Darkwave | House | Electro | Powernoise | Jungle

Since 1996, burn has been a pillar of Portland’s underground. Starting at fifteen on a Radio Shack mixer and Technics 1200s, he bridged Psychic TV acid-house with Front 242 machinery, leading to a 1997 residency at the Paris Theater.

From 2001–2004, he anchored the city’s Saturdays with Flux, establishing a legendary 80/20 rule: 80% atmospheric B-sides, 20% surgical hits. A veteran of La Luna and The Panorama, he also commanded the Deacon X/Sinferno booth for a decade. Between 2008–2013, he pivoted to SICK, a "dirtydiskoartfuck" project that defined the city's queer synth-punk scene at Branx and Rotture.

Now returning as a master engineer, burn has restored a 60-hour archive (2001–04) with high-fidelity separation. Armed with a refurbished hybrid rig, he fuses vintage EBM energy with the cold brilliance of Zanias and QUAL.

"I let the machine breathe."
