Ulverston, United Kingdom
In September 2012 'Buffers' returned, for one night only, five years after the popular Ulverston nightclub closed its doors for the final time – after serving the town for almost three decades. In response to growing local demand the former nightclub’s three resident DJ’s teamed up to create ‘Buffers – The Re-union’ in Ulverston’s premier venue – the Coronation Hall.
Although the ‘club has gone’ the ‘music’ of Buffers, which played such a big part in the lives of at least two generations of Ulverstonians, ‘lives on’.
‘Buffers – The Re-union’ featured a soundtrack of five hours of the biggest tunes that graced the Buffers sound-system down the years.
The night was a resounding success - with almost 800 tickets sold in just 16 days, more than two months prior to the event! Public demand has led to ‘Buffers – The Re-union’ now becoming an annual event at Ulverston's Coronation Hall, with an free open air party also taking place on Carnival Day in the town's Globe Beer Garden.
