Play it High

This mix has kicked around for a while, I need to release it. So many great tracks didn’t quite fit that I hope to put out another shortly.

This has a nice pumping start, a new track from old faves Gabriel & Dresden, then Hardwell’s great new Apollo (I loved hearing him drop it live last month before Porter Robinson’s set in Chicago) then a fun Alesso/Kyau & Albert mashup by Triarchy, who I shall definitely be exploring more. Alesso is also featured in the following track; I’m glad I got to see him at a small venue in Milwaukee before most people had heard of him. Next a fun Dada Life exclamation, an alt detour, and we settle down for the second half with some beautiful dubstep sounds. It’s not all calm, though, Showtek and Knife Party shake things up—I couldn’t resist mashing them up a bit, as Chris suggested when hearing an early draft. Jam & Spoon’s classic Ibiza Trance track Stella plays during much of On a Good Day, though you only notice towards the end when it takes over.
