A Concrete Abacus

Driving back from a family crisis in the Cleveland area this weekend I heard Teenage Crime again, and having picked up Zodiac a couple weeks ago, I thought they would probably fit together really well. And indeed, my favorite part of this whole mix is the transition from Teenage Crime into Zodiac, from 16:30 to 17:10. The mix from A Heavy Abacus into The Veldt, from 6:55 to 7:15 is also nice. The shift over to Midnight City starting at 19:40 made me happy too, and a snippet of Lick The Rainbow turned out to be the perfect bridge between that and Concrete Angel. Transcendence was a suprising thought to follow, but feels great to me here. And then an abrupt yet comfortable return to a more modern electro feel with Metropolis. Burned With Desire provides an ethereal pause to catch your breath, and I wanted to end with Qulinez’ Troll, since I liked his remix of A Heavy Abacus so much.
