Bristol Soundscapes is radio show which mixes investigative journalism and experimental soundscaping. Some shows revolve around specific themes and stories set in and around Bristol, others embark on an improvisational journey through mixing and blending found sound, music and commentary. It involve guest speakers related to art, activism, philosophy and psyho-geography. The music that is played is inspired by and thematically follows the weekly focus, ranging from jazz, to folk, to ambient/electronic and afrobeat. Ultimately, the purpose of this show is to engage both presenters and listeners into a collective sonic experience, making active listening the entry point into differently experiencing Bristol and beyond.
