STEP BACK THROUGH TIME.
There is increasing interest in local history by both locals and visitors to the area. According to many tourists and travellers the best and most exciting way of getting to know any town is to walk around it. The usual guided historical walking tours of the towns of Castlebar and Newport are conducted throughout the months of July and August.
The tours are thoroughly researched and presented by Brian Hoban, local historian and Failte Ireland Approved Guide, who presents his tours with passion, humour and flair.
Brian is a regular contributor of historical articles on the Web and his works have been broadcast on CRC fm on the programme - “Hey Days & Auld Stocks” – a series on local history, which was also produced on CD.
