As a native New Orleanian, my creativity has been inspired from the built environment and the ever-changing landscape from which it emerges.

My jewelry work comprises metal etchings of historic New Orleans maps, some culled from the archives and dating from as early as the 1700s.

From raw sheets of metal (bronze, brass, copper and nickel), these pieces have been transformed into jewelry through a handcrafted process of heat image transferal, etchant emersion, and natural oxidation.

These sheets are then hammered, sanded and polished into wearable ornaments that immortalize transitory scapes of New Orleans’ history: from trade routes and forgotten swamps to abandoned asylums whose architectural residue still decorates the landscape today.
