NUMBI is back! And this time we’re celebrating the funkiness of Afropolitan Divas. It’s a night of spoken word, live music, dance and celebration.
As part of our line-up, we’re pleased to have on board the Somali legend, Maryam Mursal, who over a career spanning more than three decades has thrilled audiences across the globe with her exuberant Somali jazz. Maryam has performed with Nina Simone, Miriam Makeba and it’s a pleasure to have her perform at NUMBI.
We also have the talented poets Zena Edwards and Yusra Warsame, whose performance skills are unparalleled. Eritrean-born singer, Miryam Solomon who brought the house down at our last event, our very own honourable Numbi sistren Dorothea Smartt and yes the 11-piece Afrobeat funkateers Bronzehead, will be returning .
