On the 15th March, I played all night at my twice monthly dance, Rhythm Section.
The night is all vinyl and no exceptions where made for this. I played 6 hours with two turntables and a trolley load of records.
The first 2.5 hours was funk / soul / disco / boogie selections as the dance-floor filled up. I couldn't export a file larger than 4GB so I offer you this 3.5 hour section of the night - from about 12.30 until 4am.
There's a couple of incidents where people bumped into the decks and records skipped, there are a few dips in sound where I spoke to the crowd on the microphone (the record output doesn't pick this up) and needless to say there are a couple of less than perfect mixes.
If you listen carefully you can hear crowd scream in the quiet bits between tracks.
It was a lot of fun but most definitely testing! Doing this week in week out requires such insane amounts of skill; so hats off to the DJ's who do that.
To be listened to in it's entirety, in the dark.x
