Birds is the musical project of East London based DJ, Katie Wilkinson. The music is an outcome of new wave 80s goth, techno, psychedelic and world music influences. The name was inspired by the numerous birds she encountered during long, reflective runs through Hackney's marshes in preparation for sessions in her home studio.

As a DJ, as well as through her music she exercises a never ending desire to explore sonic possibility. Her sets reflect these curiosities and have an extremely transcendent nature to them; you never know whether you'll find yourself dancing to churning low tempo industrial techno, middle eastern hidden gems, high tempo acidic bass lines or something far and between these things. She has a monthly radio show on Netil Radio (the fourth Tuesday of the month 5-7).
