Co-founder in 1977 of Amsterdam’s Decibel Radio. At the top of the Disco Craze, this station programmed a upfront mix of disco and r&b. In the 10 years that followed Decibel took new styles as Hip Hop, New Wave and Electro, House and Techno to it’s listeners. The station grew bigger and bigger and although, at the time being illegal, the station proved to be a blue print for many of the radio stations nowadays. (www.decibel.fm)

When Decibel closed down in early 1988, I was asked by Boudisque (the big Amsterdam music retailer) for their opening of a special “Dance Music Only” recordstore. This store, which opened it’s doors late 1989 was to become the epicentre of the then blooming house and dance culture.
