Bene Shanks’ is a multi-talented instrumentalist who has weaved both acoustic and electronic sounds through some of New Zealand’s more revered musical projects. Making noises out of nothing for the likes of Che Fu and the kratez, The Rooftops and Beats Botanical has allowed him to spend the last fifteen years in a state of studio cabin fever in and around Auckland. Yes, he’s a bit pasty from the starvation of daylight but his music is anything but.
Giving in to the desires of the inner teenage girl that all men cradle inside themselves, Bene shifted his focus from band mentality to solo masher-upperer and started working on remixes which give new life and genre to the top 40 hits hes always wanted to hear on the festival circuit.
