I grew up on a farm and didn't move to "town" until I was in the sixth grade. My parents raised horses as somewhat of a hobby, and I loved to ride horses as a child. However, I have not ridden in many years since I was thrown off one rather violently (don't read too much into that). I left rural America when I graduated from high school and did not look back. I always knew I was what we called a "city boy".
I love to travel. I have been to Europe three times now, and I would love to make a return trip anytime. I chose public health as a career knowing that I wanted to work in the HIV field. I wanted to work with HIV because there was a time in my life when I thought I was infected. I love public health and plan to continue working with HIV until I work myself out of a job...when there is no more HIV in the world. I want to make a difference in the world, and I work hard everyday so that I might.
