I’m Tippi, host of Beat Central Podcast, or just a plain old mix enthusiast. i’ve enjoyed making remixes and mashups since being a young child. Hearing different melodies held together a beat integued me. My first experience hearing a live dj performance was as a pre-teen attending an officer’s ball as both my parents were in the military. I grew up listening to anything and everything. I remember the deejay mixing 90s RnB music together, songs like, “Go to the Horse’s Mouth” by The Crew, “Remember the Time” by Michael Jackson, and “Mind is Playing Tricks on Me” by Geto Boys. As the melodies of those different songs followed a mathematically precise beat pattern, i realized they could be matched together to make a new song, or a remix that to me sounds really diferent and exciting. Sewing different songs together and becoming a digital seamsteress is a soul level achievment. I creatively mix many songs together in ways that are loud & full of energy & bassssssss.
