Born in 1992 in the city of Porto, José Miguel Silva is the DJ and producer that embodies Bassment. In 2009 he started to buy his first vinyl records, months before having his own mixing equipment.

Producing since 2013, his music has been supported by Noisia, Philth, BassBrothers, Document One, Bredren, MAUOQ, Sweetpea and others.

Bassment has played DJ shows in Madrid, Spain and in Oakland, San Francisco Bay Area, USA aswell as travelled all around Portugal, North to South. In 2019, Jose celebrated 10 years of DJing and with a lot more forthcoming music, the future looks bright!
