Marcel Willems a.k.a. Bassgrow found his love in drum & bass music in 2007 at a local rave in Cologne, Germany. Though he was attracted to the metal genre, he finds more and more tracks to appreciate and was quickly drawn into Drum & Bass.

At the end of the year 2007 he started producing drum & bass, hip-hop beats and other electronic music styles. Two years later Bassgrow plays his own first tracks with the local crew 'Comabreakz'. A former drum & bass event that had monthly club gigs with guests like Skynet, Billain, Neonlight, Forbidden Society, Hallucinator and many more. Their journey ended in late 2017 with The Sect and Adi-J as their guest.
