The British Amateur Rugby League Association was formed in Huddersfield in 1973 and has become one of the sporting success stories of modern times. With the game in serious decline there were fewer than 150 amateur teams in the early 70's, now there are 1400 teams and 900 youth and junior teams. Close to 23,000 players will be in action during each weekend of the season.
