Ballet Nimba is lead by Guinean choreographer Idrissa Camara and combines captivating and energetic dance, live music, song and drama, creating an entertaining and enriching experience, appealing to all.
Ballet Nimba is a dance-theatre company based on the African Ballet. This tradition was born in The Republic of Guinea to tell the mythologies and history of the region using artistic choreography and made famous by Les Ballets Africains du Guinee. Nimba aims to raise the profile of this exciting and compelling art form and introduce it to UK audiences. Idrissa Camara is the young founder of Ballet Nimba and has been funded by the Arts Council of Wales to choreograph the premier production by this fledgling company : "Spirit Mask".
