Balancing Between Worlds

V. G. Lovecraft invites listeners to join him, "balancing between worlds". He explores the "lines" between various spiritual paths, the mundane and the spiritual, etc. upon which we each attempt to maintain a sense of balance. Are these lines necessary? Is it possible that some lines do not exist at all?
