Born in Manchester, Piccadilly Radio was my escape and companion from an unhappy childhood. To this day I remember those heady days of independent radio. I pursued a career in professional photography, which took me on travels around the world. After a decade, I became disillusioned with the brittleness of advertising, and I joined the Police. For nearly 30 years I dealt with the highs and lows of human fragility and yet, came across ordinary people that became heroes in extra ordinary circumstances.
The skills I learnt in Road policing, later CID and child protection, interviewing some of the most vulnerable and traumatised human beings served me well. I now bring that experience to conversations I have with people who have interesting and inspiring stories to tell.
I host and produce podcasts mainly concentrating on police wellbeing. I later expanded the wellbeing theme with the "Mindful Life" series and continue to do so to this day.
I present shows on Bay Trust Radio.
