This was a part of my first set of Moon Magic on 15 Feb for @moonmagiceventspt Inspired by Black House Radio, and a gorgeous evening spent dancing at A Sala Lisa with music by the icons Chima Isaaro, Gayance, and Lovie. House music originated in Chicago and the earliest tracks remind me of home…the sound of gospel, jazz, R&B, disco. The rhythms were created to make us feel-not just our emotions, but our bodies and souls. House music is healing, especially for the earliest DJs trying to survive-many of them black and queer. Music was their release and that joy spread to the dance floor.

This mixtape is my offering for this new moon/lunar year…my hope is that you dance like know one is watching as you listen.

May your liberation (especially on the dance floor) be more magical, slutty, and life changing this year ✨💙💜💋
