Nastywip, formerly known as Ascide5, began his DJ career in the late 1990s in the small town of Ylivieska. At that time, the techno culture was thriving in the region, and warehouse raves were constantly being held in the provinces. This new and magical experience left a lasting impression on him. He got bitten by the bug. He learned and practiced mixing two tracks or three seamlessly together with vinyl records. His skills started to grow. He began organizing his own parties in 1999. In the early days, his tools were American house, French filter house, and monotonous Swedish and British techno. Nowadays, his tools are house and techno.
