A couple of years ago, I spent a couple of months trying to put together 30 mixtapes from 30 countries for a friend's 30th birthday. What started as a bit of fun ended up as a real a journey (in more ways than one... ahem). I'm sharing those mixes here, along with some I've made since.

The music here is by no means intended as an exhaustive guide to the vast tapestry of music, past and present, from these countries. These are just songs that I love. Often there is a focus on music from the 60s and 70s, and an emphasis on funk, soul, jazz and rock n roll music, but it's not limited to those either.
