Sister Rock began DJing in early 2007 out of frustration at a Dubai DJ scene dominated by house and R&B DJs. This musical mistress plays an eclectic mix of ska, reggae, hip hop, old rock, punk and indie. Since performing on the Gulf DJ circuit, she’s supported, The Wailers, everyday people Arrested Development, the Fun Lovin’ Criminals, De La Soul, English ska band The Beat, Prime Circle, one of the biggest rock bands to come out of South Africa, British soul band Mama’s Gun, Juliana Down, the popular Abu Dhabi-based rock band, local soul band Abri, Brit rock chics Vixs N The Kixs and nu rave outfit Skank Sinatra. Sister Rock puts on her own nights where she encourages dressing up, Disco of the Dead went down a ghoulish storm at Halloween and people went all out with hats, gloves and shoulder pads for her recent Dynasty-themed 80s night. Sister Rock is just back from doing an ambient set at the Out Of The Ordinary (OOTO) festival in England and is currently the resident DJ at old skool
