The subsequent Pueblo II occupation of the South Fork was much more comprehensive than the Pueblo I occupation and also rather different, with sites dispersed up and down the valley rather than gathered in one location. A comparable though rather smaller sized collection of sites dating to the Pueblo I period was also present in the top reaches of Kin Klizhin Wash to the west of Fajada Wash . He suggests that the number of websites assigned to Pueblo I in those surveys is greatly blown up, and that for a lot of the Pueblo I period the Chaco location had a tiny populace which increased significantly, probably due mostly to migration, in the late Pueblo I duration.
