Oftentimes, artists find it very difficult to establish their identity in a music industry that is constantly evolving and breeding new, interesting talent. This is not the case for Kid Lit. He has dubbed himself the ElectroSoul pioneer, a fusion of Hip Hop, Electronic and Neo Soul sounds.

A native of Brooklyn, New York Kid Lit grew up in a household that stressed the importance of education. He attended Vanderbilt University and while in the proclaimed "Music City," Kid Lit became a background vocalist for Weetu and the Truth, a local band.
