Alfredo Malabello’s story should be an inspiration to any musician. For him, it really is about the journey, rather than the destination: “What a journey it’s been. Anyone in their right mind would have given up, but I kept going,” he says on the eve of releasing his debut offering Ciao Bella.
Born to immigrant Italian parents, Alfredo was raised in the suburbs of Adelaide seeped in the European culture of the 1970s. By the mid 1980s, he was entertaining royalty and the glitterati of Perth before moving on to the “underbelly” of Melbourne. After a long stint in New York, Alfredo finally settled in Perth where he has now realised his biggest dream.
