Alcar got his first set of deck's in 1995. He learn't to find that sound and get that mix. he started playing pub's in hometown Edinburgh,trying to establish himself.He then
entered a vestex dj competition, he won his heats to play in the final.,not winning but being noticed by dj murf,who gave him an invitation to go the The End in London.
This trip influenced him in his music,using quirky and deep dark sounds and the way in which he mixed his sets,blending lots of different genres of electronic music in to one fluent journey.After a few years he started playing in clubs in Edinburgh,clubs such as Progression and Upside down,which always had great atmospheres and good party crowds.He got invited down to play in London at The Lifthouse a great wee pre-club for Fabric, he really enjoyed this night,finding people that were really up for the same sounds as himself.He continued playing in Edinburgh still playing the quirky sounds he enjoys
