Ann Arbor, United States

Alan Goldsmith is a long-time fixture on the Ann Arbor/Toledo arts scene. A seriously addicted radio listener junkie, his freelance writings on the local entertainment world have appeared in dozens of publications, including the Toledo City Paper, Metro Times, Ann Arbor Observer, Current Magazine, The Daily Telegram, and others. While a music consultant at the legendary Ann Arbor music club, Joe’s Star Lounge, he worked with scores of hipster acts including REM, the Replacements, Los Lobos, 10.000 Maniacs, John Cale, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Dream Syndicate, Violent Femmes, Billy Bragg and more. A co-producer of the legendary record series, Cruisin’ Ann Arbor, as well as his own label, Stigmata Records, he’s been a long time champion of locally sourced music. The View From Nowhere, is a tasty mix of no rules freeform music that celebrates the fire and beauty of music from all over the rainbow with a healthy inclusion of the locally created.
