Mumbai, India
Akhil is a musician and writer based in Mumbai and Dubai. He started making music in 2014 and has been playing shows since 2017. Starting from his first foray into releasing music with 2014’s highrise, Akhil has made electronic music for introverted head-bopping. His music is influenced by hip-hop, a mix of electronic music genres, the offshoots of punk, and the music of his native India, especially hindustani classical music, which is most representative of the society’s pluralistic sensibilities.
Starting 2017, he has occasionally played underground gigs, from tiny venues with nothing more than an acoustic guitar and a laptop, to slightly larger venues with an acoustic guitar, laptop, MIDI keyboard, mic, sound setup, and publicity and promotion. This includes performances of the whole album of Benji’s Tangents, and tracks released with his noise-metal band Vetal with Ankit Baraskar at a bunch of sessions with REProduce Artists.
