Hagen Schulz, the Berlin-based artist behind the Absurd Monkey Project, started out on his musical path as a guitar player, singer and songwriter of funkadelic rock music. Then, suddenly, a vast new world opened up and he discovered his true calling: electronic music. From the beginning, his biggest influence has been the sound of classic video games such as Zelda or Mega Man. Onstage and on record, Absurd Monkey Project has explored a wide range of styles like dark psycore, D&B and modern synthetic bass music and has recently been infected by the glitch/dub epidemic. .
