A Band Called Quinn are a female fronted art-pop band from Glasgow.
Singer/songwriter Louise Quinn & producer/drummer Bal Cooke met whist dressed as aliens performing for a surrealist theatre company. Other member are Steven Westwater (bass) & Robert Henderson (trumpet/keys).
The band have worked with French Producer/ DJ Kid Loco (produced album Luss & Louise appears frequently on his records) & Alex Kapranos (played on first album Inbetween Worlds). Bal has worked on a lot of Domino Records releases by The Pastels, Tenniscoats, Bill Wells & International Airport
Investment from Creative Scotland in 2012 supported a flurry of multimedia activity for the band spawning an award nominated short film Oh Jackie & a critically acclaimed collaboration with Grid Iron theatre director Ben Harrison, Biding Time (remix).
The band previously toured in Vanishing Point Theatre Company's production of The Beggar's Opera which Scottish writer Ian Rankin wrote sleevenotes for the album of.
