Extant is a non-profit artistic production platform with a focus on multidisciplinary practices in the open field of contemporary sonic arts, founded in 2024 and curated since by Maarten Buyl and Raphael Malfliet.
Extant supports artists-in-residence in the creation of new compositions, installations and performances and in the development of their methodological and technical skills within a sustainable social and environmental framework.
Inherently nomadic, Extant activates an ongoing creative and critical exchange among artists, researchers and listeners. To realize its projects and activities, Extant often establishes a prolonged and interdisciplinary dialogue with various local and international partners within the cultural landscape.
