The Zuzu Welsh band - comprised of Zuzu Welsh on vocals and guitars, Bobby Hicks on vocals, acoustic guitar and hand percussion, Abbot Grivich on guitars, keyboards, vocals and cowbell, Johnny Haisman on bass, and Dana Koone on percussion and vocals - hails from Asheville NC and in the 16 months or so since forming, have played nearly 80 gigs across North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina and even into Florida. The debut CD The Road Less Traveled garnered critical acclaim and received airplay in Nashville, Knoxville, New York, Chicago, Lakeland, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Atlanta, St Louis, Asheville, Charlotte and sold copies on five continents (North America, Europe, Asia, South America and Australia). The second CD, tentatively entitled Faultline, will feature nine new originals - all written by Zuzu - and advance copies have already received excellent reviews from Asheville-area publications, and tracks have been played on a few selected stations as well.
