Red Drum has been collecting records and DJing for 3 decades. His love of dance music began in '92 with early Hardcore/Jungle, his formative gigs include Newcastle’s first Drum & Bass night, Steppaz 1.
In the 00s Pete became known for playing Hard Energy & Acid Techno at various squat raves and free parties in the North, including playing inside Newcastle’s iconic Tyne Bridge. He also found time to run his own night Cause & Effect, while producing/engineering music for various Hard House labels such as Shock, Aztec & 12" Thumpers.
Pete dipped his feet into the Thai music scene in 2019, DJing at some of the bar, poolside and rooftop parties happening in Chiang Mai, including his own AntiGrav events and the awesome Jai Thep festival. His sets now range from electro/breaks through indie dance to acid house and techno while his trademark sound reflects his other musical passion, building synthesizers, bringing a focus on old electronic & acid sounds with a funky/energetic groove.
