My streaming began in the lockdown era. ‘2 Metres Apart’ is now merely a fond forever treasured memory. Nothing will ever be greater than that experience.

For some time, post covid, I have held back from streaming again, unsure how to format my subsequent broadcasts. Now I have decided to return. I feel compelled to. However, I will not be covering the wide range of music types as I did. My focus will instead be a genre I had always been passionate about since the 80s.

I had known it as ‘West Coast’, summed up in the sounds of Steely Dan, but as I have since learnt, this unique 70s & 80s fusion of Jazz, Soul, Soft Rock, Funk and more, has been rebranded in recent years as ‘Yacht Rock’.

Yacht Rock is now experiencing a revival, but not just for the well established guilty pleasures classics of that era. New Acts, such as Young Gun Silver Fox, are now recreating the sounds of that time, appropriately tagged as ‘NuYacht’.
