White Island is the pseudonym of composer, DJ and interactive artist Ken Christiaens, working mainly in Brussels (BE), but traveling all around Europe and further for his creative endeavours. He has created many interactive, hi-tech based art installations, where universal laws of nature, social disturbances and an engaging, empathic relationship with the audience are always present.

His White Island project is a fundamental research on how the surrounding environment impacts the actual creation of art during it's conception. This is the reason why he's very meticulous and open in the description of the context in which every art piece is produced. While this approach invites people to reflect on the impact of their environment and living circumstances on their productivity, overall happiness and empathy towards the other, it also provides a unique insight in the personal life and journey of the artist.
