Andy Wadlow is another DJ coming out of the ‘’Steel City’’, Sheffield, in the North of England. Andy was heavily influenced by the mid 80’s hip hop scene and then latterly the Detroit & Chicago House explosion.
Born & raised in the “steel city” it was difficult not to be influenced by the Warp Records bleep techno era, with a nod to the forefathers of the scene. Such as, Forgemasters, Kid Unknown, Nightmares on Wax et al… Other influences included US labels such as Nu Groove, Strictly Rhythm, and the Miami sound of Bottomline to name but a few.
Brought up on Hip Hop, Soul, Disco, Funk and Early Electronic music. All elements that he utilizes in his DJ sets and mixes.
Andy Wadlow’s latest project/residency is a month event called “Kargo” this event is dedicated to playing the latest, upfront, Soulful/Deep house & Nu Disco. This is hosted by himself and stable mate Rudi Johns (aka Rudi) and see its first guest Groove Assassin land in March 2022.
