One day in March 2020, the UK Gov told me I couldn't go out anymore. The next day, I opened a bottle of Rumn (a bit like Autumn) and got trousered in the garden whilst attempting to broadcast Prog Rock, utilising nothing more than phone logged into Faceache, micing up a Macbook, running Windows.
Persevering with the "tech", I progressed to broadcasting in Mono (complete with intermittent hum) and eventually ended up multicam streaming from the back of my campervan to tens of folks, in glorious stereophonical.
The rest of the year was spent “honing” my skills on FB Live every Friday night, and I eventually became proficient at emptying the bottle. Alas the performance was akin to watching Harry Hill’s you’ve been framed, minus the £200 incentive. Eventually, even Faceache had had enough and I moved to Mixcloud where, from time to time, I continue to strive to be The Worlds Worst Laptop DJ.
