Sometimes we need sonic re-enforcement, re-fortification, a re-up of sorts. I know I did when I started this set!! I reached back and pulled up some of my favorite cuts and played with them a bit. Hope you were able to see the latest Questlove documentary. Learn something new every day... I was reminded of how Sly & The Family Stone cuts made me feel when they came out. I played with some of them in this set. To me, it seems I unconsciously picked tracks that were either ironically timely or timeless for this set. The genres (#house, #funk, Old School #Hip hop, #R&B and even some #Jazz) used in this set cross through time... Yet speaks so much to what I see "today". Think about it while you enjoy the beats...
