I've noticed some strange skipping on your last few mixes. At first I thought that it was my bluetooth headphones, which skip occasionally, but it seemed like it was happening much more often on these mixes. Now I'm listening on a fully wired setup and still noticing the skipping. Start at around the 3 minute mark of this mix and listen for a few minutes if you want several examples of the issue. I really like your mixes but I'm finding the skipping to be pretty jarring. I hope you are able to sort it out!

Greetings, hello! I hope you are well!

I'm really sorry to hear about the skipping issue, that drives me absolutely up the wall when it happens for me, for whatever reason- I'm an active listener (sounds like you are, too) and interruptions are a nightmare! What I can tell you is that the issue must be with mixcloud, or the way your interface (app, browser) is playing with mixcloud....the source file that I recorded and mastered is thankfully glitch-free this time (small victories!) and I just played from 3m as you suggested here and all seems well.

What you are describing happened to me a few times about a year ago, I contacted Mixcloud, they advised me to update/reinstall the app and it fixed the issue. Perhaps try reinstalling mixcloud if you are using the app? I have asked another occasionally listener of the mixes to see if she experiences the same issues.

Thanks for the positive feedback about the music, and I'm sorry you are not able to enjoy it the way you would like to.

If you're using the mixcloud app, try entering the "storage & cache" in the settings and clearing the cache. Good luck!

Hey, thank you so much for the quick reply! I am glad to hear that your original has no problems, and that you can't hear issues on mixcloud yourself. However, I also find it very puzzling. I listen on mixcloud a fair amount, on both the iOS app and through Chrome on Linux. Other than the occasional Bluetooth skipping on my phone with my wireless headphones (which sounds a bit different and is less frequent), I have not encountered this issue with any shows on mixcloud except the ones that you have uploaded in the last few weeks, and for those shows, I get the skipping issue on both platforms. I listen to an assortment of HQ and regular uploads, so I don't think that it's an issue specifically with mixcloud's handling of HQ uploads. For example, I recently listened to Group Therapy 556, moving back and forth between my phone and browser, and encountered no problems.

I'll try clearing the cache on both my browser and the app, but given the nature of the issue (appearing on multiple platforms and isolated to just your recent shows) I would be surprised if this addressed the issue. Either way, I'll keep listening to your uploads as they appear (at least until the skipping becomes too jarring), and I hope that one way or another this issue gets sorted out!

Hello again, Mixcloud won't let me respond to your most recent message directly, so I'll write this here!

I made another master of this mix with more headroom- see if that works better? Its on my page below, not highlighted, or you can see it here https://www.mixcloud.com/VaporLock/singularity-with-headroom-test/.

I really appreciate the feedback, thank you. I recently changed my setup and recording method and have been recording files with a lot more loudness directly from the mixer even before mastering. I played this one yesterday (I really like the music on it btw, I hope you get to enjoy it) both locally on my MP3 player and streamed from Mixcloud and it played back with no issues here.

If the test file still has issues for you, I'll contact Mixcloud and see if they have suggestions. Thanks again for taking the time to report the issue.

Just following up again on our conversation on the other recording. I'm listening to this one again. In addition to the artifact I recorded at 16:19 previously, I noticed something similar at 4:05 and 5:05 both here and in the version with more headroom. On this listen through, I did not not notice any other issues at the 3-5 minute mark like I initially reported. I apologize for being imprecise in my initial report. I am not sure why I didn't notice these on my initial run through of the higher headroom version. They are all subtle enough that I suppose they are just easy to overlook. Are these artifacts present in your original source mp3? I can provide recordings for these as well if you'd like.

With this in mind, I am ready to conclude that increasing the headroom did not actually address the skipping, and I just was not listening carefully enough to that version to notice the issues I noticed on my first listen-through. I am sorry for misleading you. Maybe these are all just instances of you bumping the jog wheel a little bit?

And a couple at about 5:35 and 6:08 present in both (out of rewinds so I can't easily go back and get precise timestamps). Are you hearing these as well?
