Grassroots-DJ's from Aarhus, Denmark.

The DJ-collective VK was formed in the Summer of 2020, when all of the night clubs were closed down due to the pandemic. The idea formed that "If all the clubs are closed, we'll just have to make our own!"

The purpose was to develop our DJ skills together, and to play music that the others had not heard before. From the very beginning we've been mindful of the context and dynamics over an entire evening, with set time frames for each DJ's set. This is where the name 'Våbenkapløbet' ('Arms Race') came from, which is what we have called our events ever since.

From the start, we have focused on the aesthetics around the music, so that you can lose yourself in the moment, dream away on the dance floor and show off your best moves, maybe even do the VK-dance with your friends.

It is important for us to create a safe space where you can be yourself. There's room for all on a VK floor.
