Vj Mauro was born and raised in Cali Colombia, also known as the salsa capital of the world. He grew up listening to the unique salsa bands from the 70’s and 80’s and was very much influenced by his fathers massive vinyl collection and devoted passion for music. A trait sure to be inherited!
At the early Age of fourteen, he moved to Tampa Florida where his fascination and passion for other rhythmic genres grew everyday. Vj Mauro’s passion for music drove him to collect music from all types of genres. He drove himself to perfect his talent allowing him to start playing for friends and family at special events. In 2007 his talent did not go unnoticed. He began his professional Dj Career at San Carlos Tavern, One of Tampa’s top Colombian night clubs. VJ Mauro was making an appearance in the Colombian scene, he made his way to one of Tampa’s latin hot spots known as Mango Biche Night Club, where he held residency for four consecutive years as head DJ.
