Tripodal is the artist name of composer & music producer Melvin Rijlaarsdam. He grew up in Leiden, the Netherlands, playing the drums and listening to his favourite trance artists like Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten and Tiësto. His love for music was combined with his interest in music technology.

He ended up studying Composition & Music Production at the Utrecht School of Arts (HKU) where he learned to develop his skills as a recording and mixing engineer as well as writing music and sound design for film and documentary. This eventually led to his development as an independent artist in the progressive house and melodic techno scene.

Tripodal tries to create an organic hybrid between electronic and acoustic elements in a melodic and progressive musical context.
