Hi folks!

First attempt at a 'Post' here on mixcloud so I'll start by saying thank you so much for following and engaging with the mixes I've been sharing on Torn & Frayed over the years!

I'm currently exploring new directions for T&F beyond mixes - not sure what shape this will take at the moment but stay tuned!

In the meantime, there are some cool guest mixes planned for the next few months, as well as yours truly throwing out the usual mix of country rock, alt country, psych and folk! The good stuff basically.

Right now though, I want to tell you about PATTERNS, a new collaborative playlist that I have set up via Spotify (I know).

I've been listening to and reading a lot about library music from the mid 20th century lately. I'm fascinated by the big labels such as DeWolfe and KPM, as well as composers and film soundtracks that echo library sounds, whether far out, experimental, or super smooth. I love it all, and I want to invite you to contribute to the playlist to help me grow a 'library' of library and adjacent sounds.

With awesome artwork by our guy Dan Wilson, PATTERNS includes some big names such as Ennio Morricone, Alessandro Alessandroni and Roger Webb, as well as some contemporary artists that wear their library influences on their record sleeves, think Maston, PAINT, Sven Wunder, Resavoir, Misha Panfilov and Traffik Island.
